Every "why" is a door into thinking. Responding with interest, rather than impatience, tells your child that wondering is worthwhile.
Turn it back to them
You do not need every answer. "What do you think?" invites your child to reason and imagine — often the more valuable exercise.
Explore together
When you do not know, say so and find out together. Looking, watching and trying things models curiosity as a lifelong habit.
Make room for wonder
